When talking about the legendary quarterbacks in college football history there is much to be argued about. There are so many quarterbacks that have put up gaudy numbers because of inferior competition or the system that they run. Others have put up good numbers but the most impressive statistic is the win percentage that they had. And then you have the guys who put up really good numbers on bad teams. When you think of quarterbacks who put up crazy numbers because of the particular system that they played in like the run and shoot or a spread offense some of the first names that come up are Ty Detmer of BYU, Andre Ware of Houston, and Tommy Chang of Hawaii. There are a lot of quarterbacks who put up good numbers but not as many that did it and won consistently. Matt Lienart of USC put up some great numbers and also went 39-2 as a starter. Tommy Frazier went 33-3 as a starter for Nebraska proving that running quarterbacks can dominate also. Other quarterbacks that should get mentioned for there skill are players like Sammy Baugh of TCU, Roger Staubach of Navy, and Danny Wuerffel of Florida. It is a great debate that will go on for years.
